Her parents are native to Barbados as well, and she began singing in the early years of her life. Unhappy with her chaotic family life and the constant arguments between the parents, she absorbed herself into music. Soon, she realized that she wanted to become a professional musician. In high school she joined a group of musicians and got the chance to meet music producer Evan Rodgers. He was impressed with her talent. He asked the girl to go to New York in order to make a career of it as a singer which she gladly did. Her debut album quickly out and Rihanna began to become a sensation in no time. She was a favorite amongst teens for her upbeat, foot-tapping music. That led to Rihanna pursuing directing. Rihanna is now regarded as an fashionista and young idol.
