Karla Camila Cabello Estrabao, also known as Camila Cabello, was born on March 3, 1997, in Coj mar, Havana, Cuba. She is an American-Cuban actress, singer, and songwriter, and her name is pronounced as "ca-meela ca-beyo." Cabello rose to fame as a member of the girl group Fifth Harmony, where she established herself as a solo artist. She collaborated with Shawn Mendes for "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and Machine Gun Kelly for "Bad Things," which both reached number four on the US Billboard Hot 100. Cabello left the group in 2016 and released her debut solo single, "Crying in the Club" soon after. In 2018, her debut studio album, "Camila," reached number one on the Billboard 200 chart and received a platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Her lead single, "Havana," topped charts in many countries, including the US and UK, and "Never Be the Same" reached the top ten in several countries. Cabello's duet with Mendes, "Se orita," became her second single to top the Billboard Hot 100. Cabello grew up in East Havana with her younger sister, Sofia. Her father, Alejandro Cabello, is Mexican, and her mother, Sinuhe Estrabao, is a housewife. Cabello moved to Miami, Florida, with her mother when she was six years old, and her father joined them 18 months later. She gained American citizenship in 2008 and attended Miami Palmetto High School before leaving in the 2012-2013 school year to pursue her singing career. Cabello's net worth as of 2023 is $20 million, earned through her career as a singer, actress, director, songwriter, and voiceover artist.
